"The developer, Halo Studios, has reaffirmed plans first announced in June to reveal "what we've been working on" during the upcoming Halo World Championships event this October. In a new blog post, Halo Studios said the team will appear on the main state to "talk about it." There will also be a "deep dive" panel lined up that Halo Studios says "you won't want to miss." These events both take place on Friday, October 24."
"Microsoft has made major changes since then, including installing a new executive leadership team and switching game engines for future projects, while acknowledging that Halo Infinite missed the mark in some respects. Xbox boss Matt Booty previously said Halo Infinite's launch was like a runner tripping at the finish line. "Halo Infinite was the last remnant of how we made Halo games in the past. That was our recipe. And what we're doing right now is changing our recipe," studio head Pierre Hintze said."
Halo Studios confirmed plans to reveal upcoming Halo projects and to hold a deep-dive panel at the Halo World Championships on Friday, October 24. Microsoft did not specify whether the reveal will involve new games, remasters, or other initiatives. Microsoft has multiple Halo projects in development and previously showcased Unreal Engine concepts and Project Foundry in the 2024 "A New Dawn" trailer. 343 Industries was rebranded as Halo Studios. Halo Infinite (2021) remains the latest main-series entry. Microsoft installed new executive leadership, switched game engines for future titles, and acknowledged shortcomings with Halo Infinite. Reports indicate potential Halo releases for PS5 and Switch 2 and a Combat Evolved remaster.
