MindsEye, the new semi-open-world game created by Leslie Benzies, is a disappointing mix of ideas lacking execution. Players follow Jacob Diaz, a soldier with a troubled past due to a cybernetic implant, as he navigates a convoluted plot involving AI and interdimensional beings. Despite its ambitious premise, the game suffers from bugs, poor performance, and excessive mundane dialogues, rendering the gameplay dull and uninspired. Overall, MindsEye does not effectively cater to any audience, leaving players yearning for a more engaging and memorable experience.
MindsEye is a collection of various ideas, some good and many bad, molded roughly into the shape of video games you've played before, but missing most of what made those games good.
Instead, it's a very expensive, below-average, somewhat pretty but totally bland... thing that is completely forgettable and dreadfully boring.
