"One of the big reasons I've fallen off Marvel Rivals has been the same-y hero design it's been exhibiting of late, especially as far as the supportive Strategists are concerned . Daredevil's melee-based kit may not be that distinct at a glance, but NetEase going so far as distorting the player's vision at a certain distance to emulate the character's blindness is one of the coolest touches the team has come up with thus far."
"Nothing has piqued my interest enough to get me to return to the hero shooter, especially as Overwatch 2 has gotten its head mostly on straight. Enter Daredevil, the blind hero who uses echolocation to track down his enemies. He's the game's next Duelist hero, and the team at NetEase has done some incredibly clever stuff to adapt his many strengths and weaknesses to the game."
Marvel Rivals will add Daredevil as a Duelist melee hero who uses echolocation to locate enemies. The implementation distorts the player's vision beyond a certain distance to simulate blindness while granting wall-sensing through echolocation. Echolocation can reveal enemies hiding behind cover, including normally invisible characters such as Invisible Woman, Psylocke, and Loki. NetEase adapted Daredevil's strengths and weaknesses into clever gameplay mechanics. Recent perceptions of Marvel Rivals included repetitive hero designs among supportive Strategists, while Overwatch 2 has stabilized. Daredevil launches on October 10 and could entice lapsed players to return; some players previously favored Star-Lord and Mr. Fantastic.
