Marathon is preparing for a second season with a seasonal reset, new content, and rewards. Bungie plans to expand the game beyond its core hardcore audience by adding new modes that support more relaxed gameplay. A PvE-focused experimental mode with a light touch of PvP is planned for the start of Season 2, followed later by a PvE-only mode centered on crews completing objectives together. Bungie may also test a PvP-only mode. Season 2 will launch on June 2 and include the return of Duos with a rotating queue, plus a new matchmaking system, increased maximum vault size, and UI/UX improvements.
