Lego Game Boy Restocked At Amazon, And It's Shipping Early
"The Lego Game Boy doesn't officially launch until October 1, but Amazon is shipping units now, with orders arriving as soon as today (September 26). The retailer had been sold out of preorders for about a month, so it's very possible the 421-piece set will disappear again. Outside of Amazon, the only other major retailer with stock available is Walmart--though Walmart still lists the $60 display model with its original release date."
"Lego Game Boy (72046) Part of Lego's display model series geared toward adult builders and collectors, the Game Boy building kit was teased in January and fully unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in July. The Game Boy is tied with the Super Mario Piranha Plant as the most affordable display model in the Lego Nintendo lineup. It will be the eighth Nintendo-themed kit designed for adults since the pair kicked off their partnership with a replica of the Nintendo Entertainment System."
The 421-piece Lego Game Boy (72046) recreates the original handheld at nearly the same size as the 1989 model and functions as a display piece with nostalgic interactive elements. Amazon has begun shipping units early, with some orders arriving September 26, while Walmart currently shows stock; Target, Best Buy, GameStop, and the Lego Store have sold out preorders. The set is part of Lego's adult-focused display model series and was teased in January, then unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con. It ties with the Super Mario Piranha Plant as the most affordable Lego Nintendo display model and is the eighth adult-oriented Nintendo kit.
