How To Raise Clan Affinity In Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2
"In Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, the clan you choose from the list of the best classes determines which abilities you get access to first in the game. But, you can still gain access to the abilities from other clans, you will just need far more ability points, and an additional currency from Blood Resonance activities, but there is a way to reduce the cost. You can reduce the cost of these abilities by gaining Clan Affinity by doing side quests for each clan. Clan Affinity is not tracked in-game visibly. Instead, you'll only know you hit a new milestone when the ability cost lowers and is labeled with "Clan Affinity.""
"You gain Clan Affinity by completing tasks for the clan representatives, which involve either traditional side quests or collectibles. Of the six, three of them will give you side quests to complete in order to gain Clan Affinity. You will typically get one quest from Niko, Mrs. Thorn, and Onda each night, at which point you will need to progress the main story in order to progress to the next night. Patience, Silky, and Fletcher, all require you to bring them collectibles in order to progress."
Clan Affinity lowers the cost of learning abilities from clans other than the player's starting clan. Clan Affinity is earned by completing tasks for clan representatives, including side quests and collectible deliveries. Access to clan representatives opens after becoming the new Sheriff of Seattle. Six representatives exist: Silky (Brujah), Patience (Toreador), Niko (Banu Haqim), Mrs. Thorn (Tremere), Fletcher (Ventrue), and Onda (Lasombra). Three representatives (Niko, Mrs. Thorn, Onda) typically provide nightly side quests that require advancing the main story between nights. The other three (Patience, Silky, Fletcher) require bringing collectibles to progress affinity. Ability cost reductions appear labeled "Clan Affinity" when milestones are reached.
