How To Change PS5 Themes
"To change the theme on your PS5, you'll first need to go to Settings by clicking the gear icon in the top right corner of your homescreen. Scroll down and select System > Appearance > Appearance and Sound. Here, you can select between PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, or Default (PS5). Each of these themes will affect both the look and sound of your system, though the core PS5 UI won't be affected much."
"Sadly, the console-specific startup sounds present in the original 30th Anniversary theme packs didn't return when Sony brought the themes back. Hopefully, we'll someday get a chance to enjoy those again. You can select between PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, or Default (PS5) themes. At the bottom of the theme selection screen, you can preview the general vibe and color scheme of each generation."
Sony has made 30th Anniversary retro themes permanent on PS5, offering selectable themes based on PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, and PS5. Themes modify system backgrounds and navigation sounds to match each generation's color scheme while leaving the core PS5 interface largely unchanged. Themes are applied via Settings → System → Appearance → Appearance and Sound, and previews show each generation's general vibe. The original console-specific startup sounds from the 30th Anniversary packs are not included. Theme choices can be changed at any time, and Welcome screen backgrounds remain separately customizable.
