This feature requires a free update for compatible games and enables a unique multiplayer experience in which each player operates as if they possess their own copy. While local sharing is possible between Switch 2 and original Switch systems, online sharing requires both users to have the Switch 2. Several first-party games have been confirmed to support the GameShare feature, providing innovative gameplay options.
With GameShare, a Switch 2 owner can share their game either in person or online with other Switch users, who do not have to own the game.
GameShare isn’t just simply streaming a copy of the game; each player sees the game from their own perspective as if they were running their own copy.
Receiving systems must also be a Switch 2 for online play via GameChat, broadening the scope for multiplayer engagement.
Games like Super Mario Odyssey allow two players to play together, with the option to swap roles, enhancing shared gaming experience.
