"Bloomberg's Jason Schreier shared some of what he's heard on a recent episode of the Button Mash Podcast. He compared GTA 6's possible delay trajectory to Red Dead Redemption 2. "If you look at the history there, they announced it for fall 2017, then it slipped to spring 2018, and then it slipped again to fall 2018, and then it landed October of that year," he said. "So I wouldn't be super shocked if that is what happens again this time around.""
"As Schreier goes on to mention, entire game reveal, marketing, and launch plans are being arranged around GTA 6's current November 19, 2026 release date. Many games no doubt racing to launch well ahead of it or wait until early 2027. Another delay would lead those same publishers and studios scrambling to try and fill that November void left in its absence."
CES 2026 occurs in Las Vegas with a wide range of consumer gadgets on display, alongside nostalgic highlights like an EarthBound booth at CES 1995 where attendees played a top SNES title. GTA 6's planned November 19, 2026 release remains at risk of delay, with its potential trajectory compared to past Rockstar slips that shifted launch windows. A delay would ripple across the industry as reveal, marketing, and launch calendars are already built around that date, prompting some games to accelerate or postpone releases. Kinetic Publishing, launched by the Phasmophobia developers, will offer financial, legal, marketing, and development guidance to upcoming games.
