"The Grand Theft Auto games have traditionally had large soundtracks and multiple radio stations. Grand Theft Auto 5 alone had 22 radio stations, including a few hosted by music artists. That game was also likely the final appearance for DJ Lazlow, who was voiced by Lazlow Jones in every game from Grand Theft Auto 3 through 5. Jones quit Rockstar in 2020 and recently cast doubt on any chance of returning."
Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rumors name Drake and DJ Khaled as contributors who may host in-game radio stations. Skrilla’s viral track 'Doot Doot (6 7)' is set to appear in the GTA 6 soundtrack, and Skrilla will have an in-game presence playing his own music. The series is known for extensive licensed soundtracks and multiple radio stations; Grand Theft Auto 5 featured 22 stations. Lazlow Jones left Rockstar in 2020, and job listings have called GTA 6 “the largest game launch in history.” The University of Tennessee will offer a course on the Grand Theft Auto series in January 2026.
