Final Fantasy 7 Remake Switch 2 Release Date Confirmed
"We've known for a while that Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth are headed to the Switch 2, and during today's big Nintendo Direct livestream, we officially got the first date for one of those games. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will arrive first on January 22, 2026, but we'll have to wait longer for the second game since Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth doesn't have a date yet."
"The announcement confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will have a physical and digital release. However, it's unclear if Intergrade will feature a Game Key card or a full physical release with the entire game on a card. Both of the Final Fantasy 7 remakes were originally released exclusively for PlayStation hardware, but times are changing for the franchise as Square Enix has begun transitioning towards multiplatform releases as part of its plan to secure long-term growth."
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will arrive on Switch 2 on January 22, 2026, with both physical and digital editions confirmed. The exact physical format remains uncertain, with questions about whether Intergrade will use a Game Key card or include the full game on a cartridge. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for Switch 2 does not yet have a release date. Both remakes originally launched as PlayStation exclusives, and Square Enix is shifting toward multiplatform releases to support long-term growth. The trilogy's final installment is in development. Additional JRPG releases for Switch include Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles (September 30), Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake (October 30), and Octopath Traveler 0 (December 4).
