Electronic Arts has announced that it will sunset Anthem, BioWare's multiplayer action game, on January 12, 2026. The game remains playable until that date, but sales of its in-game premium currency have been halted. Originally launched in 2019, Anthem faced challenges in maintaining a player base, leading to the cessation of future development in 2021. Players can still access the game if they previously purchased it, and it will be removed from the EA Play platform on August 15, 2025. EA confirmed that this decision will not result in any job losses at BioWare.
