Borderlands 4 Review: Guns Gone Wild

Borderlands 4 preserves the franchise's cell-shaded aesthetic and chaotic loot-driven combat while significantly expanding scale and variety. The game offers a gigantic open-world playground, a vast menagerie of firearms and frag grenades, and a cuckoo cast of characters. Humor remains juvenile and occasionally grating, though the silliness is dialled back from the previous entry. The series' trademark abundance is increased, which can become exhausting for some players. Improved pacing and design decisions keep gameplay moving more smoothly than earlier titles. The game succeeds by refining core strengths and delivering a recognisably enjoyable Borderlands experience.
