Bethesda has officially announced The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which is now available for purchase on Steam and Xbox Series X/S. The remaster, developed by Virtuous, brings significant graphic overhauls to enhance the experience for both new players and veterans of the game. Todd Howard, the studio head of Bethesda, emphasized Oblivion's lasting impact on the series and its development approach. The announcement comes shortly after rumors and leaks surfaced regarding remasters of other titles, including Fallout 3 and Dishonored, as part of an ongoing FTC case against Microsoft regarding its acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
"Oblivion was a real defining moment in the series and for how we make games as a studio," says Todd Howard, studio head of Bethesda.
The remastered version of Oblivion has overhauled graphics for modern hardware, enhancing the experience for new and veteran players alike.
