"Whether you choose the default or tactical button layout might depend on the type of controller you use. Black Ops 7 expands on last year's omnimovement, bringing even faster and more fluid omnidirectional movement as well as the new ability to wall jump. Tactical layout is recommended for those using a standard controller, as it maps your crouch/slide/dive button to the thumbstick, so you can be quick without ever needing to move your thumb."

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 arrives on November 14 and the BO7 beta allows early hands-on access. Players should adjust controller, graphics, and audio settings to improve aim and movement. Recommended controller settings include default or tactical edit layouts, horizontal and vertical stick sensitivities between 1.65 and 1.85, and disabling simplified controls, low motor strain, L1 ping, and trigger effects. Tactical layout maps crouch/slide/dive to the thumbstick for faster actions on standard controllers. PS5 players should turn off Trigger Effect for more precise aiming. Recommended deadzone values include Left Stick Min 0.3 and Right Stick Min 0.4 with 0.99 maxes.
