Battlefield 6 Leak Shows A Beloved Immersive Feature From BF1 Might Be Back
"As seen on the Battlefield subreddit, an uploaded gameplay clip from user Ter-Lee-Comedy of a recent Battlefield Labs playtest shows players' guns will once again become covered in mud, blood, and grime over the course of a battle. The feature was first added in Battlefield 1 and its sequel Battlefield V, but was not included in 2021's Battlefield 2042."
"The difference is substantial, with the dirt-covered weapon looking to be caked in mud. While the buildup of mud and dirt on weapons is purely cosmetic and doesn't affect gameplay, it's still a popular visual feature that many players have said help battles feel more immersive. However, it's worth nothing that just because the feature is in a playtest doesn't guarantee it will be in Battlefield 6 at launch."
"When it comes to Battlefield 6's visuals and performance, developer Battlefield Studios recently revealed the game's full recommended PC specs, as well as confirmed the game won't support ray tracing due to a decision to prioritize performance."
Leaked Battlefield Labs playtest footage and a before-and-after screenshot show weapons in Battlefield 6 accumulating mud, blood, and grime during combat, a cosmetic effect introduced in Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V but omitted from Battlefield 2042. The grime appears visually substantial and is intended to increase immersion without affecting gameplay mechanics. Inclusion in a playtest does not guarantee the feature at launch. Battlefield 6 also emphasizes greater environmental and building destructibility, has had leaked battle royale footage surface, and will supply full recommended PC specs while forgoing ray tracing to prioritize performance. Release date: October 10.
