Baldur's Gate 3 Dev Releases Its Acclaimed Previous Game On Switch 2, PS5, And Xbox Series X|S
"For anyone just buying the game now, it normally sells for $50, but on Xbox, Original Sin II is marked down to $17.50 right now, $25 on Switch, or $15 on PlayStation. The new version of Original Sin II is not a remake or a remaster, but instead it is, "Your way to experience the classic DOS:2 on the current generation of consoles," Larian said. The developer did not provide any further details on any possible improvements or updates on the new hardware."
"The game made waves at The Game Awards in part for its intense CGI announcement trailer that featured people having sex in front of a pyre where a man was burned alive. The new Divinity was the game that Geoff Keighley's mysterious monolith had been teasing. There is no release date yet for the new Divinity, but Larian has said it's the biggest game the studio has ever made."
Divinity: Original Sin II launched on December 15 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. Owners of the Switch, PS4, or Xbox One editions can download the Upgrade Pack for free, with a nominal ¥100 fee in Japan. New copies retail around $50, with current discounts on Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation. The updated release is not framed as a remake or remaster but as a way to experience DOS:2 on current-generation consoles. Original Sin II debuted in 2016 to strong critical acclaim. Larian also announced a new Divinity game with a new story, some returning continuity, and no release date yet.
