Rockstar Games unveiled the first look at Grand Theft Auto 6 nearly two years ago, triggering industry debate over a possible $100 retail price. Some analysts and figures suggested a higher price could be justified by the game's scale and could influence in-game currency for GTA Online. Saints Row design director Chris Stockman stated that only GTA could command such a price and warned against an industry-wide shift. Other analysts cautioned that GTA Online drives revenue and rising living costs argue against higher prices.
