A Full Star Wars: KOTOR 2 Remake Was In Development - Report
"'Juliet' was the codename for a project where we were going to do a full remake of KOTOR II," Reilly said. [It would have featured] modern art, modern gameplay, you know, keep the story and the characters and the general--the general content of KOTOR II, but remake it for modern hardware and modern machines with updated graphics and all those kinds of things."
"The DLC, The Sith Lords Restored Content Modification (or RCM), was originally a mod that filled in the narrative gaps while offering an alternate ending for KOTOR 2. As Aspyr officially revealed the restored content announcement, the studio confirmed that the official DLC would do the same thing: It would include new crew dialogue, an extra mission with HK-47, and a "new revamped ending.""
A full remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II was planned under the codename Juliet to modernize art, gameplay, and graphics while retaining the original story and characters. The project involved Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games and was intended to be developed alongside Saber Interactive's separate KOTOR remake. Development on the Juliet remake ceased as recently as March 2025, while the KOTOR remake by Saber remains slated for release. The Juliet project planned to incorporate the RCM restored content, including added crew dialogue, an extra HK-47 mission, and a revamped ending that never shipped with the Switch release.
