Vlambeer has released a significant update for Nuclear Throne, its popular roguelike shooter, for the first time since 2017. The beta version introduces support for 60/120fps, a revamped controls menu, and various aspect ratios. These updates will eventually be accessible to all players. Vlambeer, which previously closed down in 2020, aims to enhance and preserve its classic games under the new leadership of co-founder Jan Willem Nijman. The physical release for Switch may hint at further updates for newer consoles, including potential 120fps support on upcoming systems.
Currently, Nuclear Throne can be found on PC, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Switch (it arrived in 2019). The game started in Steam Early Access in 2013 before fully launching in late 2015.
So far, these features are part of the beta build for the roguelike shooter. The company plans to bring them to everyone in the future.
