"Maps can be purchased from an NPC named Shakra. Her location changes depending on how far you've progressed into the campaign. Area maps--i.e. Mosslands, The Marrow, and others--only show a rough outline of the zone. You also need to buy a Quill to fill in the areas that you've visited with more solid lines. Once you rest on a bench, you should have a clear idea as to the layouts of the rooms."
Hornet is the playable character, trapped in the Kingdom of Pharloom. Health is shown by four mask icons; collecting Mask Fragments increases maximum health by adding mask pips. Some Mask Fragments are hidden while others can be purchased from vendors. Areas are not revealed without purchasing maps from Shakra, whose location changes as the campaign progresses. Area maps show rough outlines; buying a Quill fills visited rooms with solid lines, and resting at benches reveals room layouts. A Compass can be equipped at benches to display Hornet's icon on the map for easier navigation.
