This Is Herman Miller's New Standing Desk for Gamers

The Coyl desk includes a coiled cable management system designed to keep spaces clean when cable length varies between two points. The design is inspired by coiled cables found on vintage telephone handsets and early mechanical keyboards. Height adjustment uses a rotary dial instead of paddles or levers, allowing fine tuning to one-tenth of an inch with an on-desk display showing the exact height. The dial provides tactile resistance and sensorily elevated feedback compared with buttons or toggles. Integrated side hooks support hanging headphones or a backpack, and an optional back panel adds pegboard-style organization for shelves and hooks. Pricing starts at $1,095 and increases with cable management and back panel options, with multiple desktop colors and programmable height presets.

"Finally, there's the rotary dial. This is the height adjustment mechanism on the Coyl desk. Rather than using traditional paddles or levers to make the desk go up or down, Herman Miller employs a dial that feels like something you'd find on an old-school stereo-or a really nice gaming mouse.
