New UX/UI + AI Design Tools You Need to Try!
"Affinity has long been a strong competitor to Adobe, but now Canva has not only integrated it but also made it completely free. Previously, Affinity consisted of three separate applications. Now it is a single package that includes: Vector - an alternative to Adobe Illustrator. Pixel - an analogue of Photoshop. Layout - something like InDesign: ideal for presentations, posters, and graphic projects. Interestingly, a Customise mode has been added. It allows you to "build" your own workspace. In fact, anyone can create a personalised tool for specific tasks."
"Figma has acquired a Tel Aviv-based start-up that generates images and videos using AI. Figma will now offer the ability to: link parameters and interface elements via nodes, train AI on its own references, generate graphics and UI elements on demand, create iterations in a "live" way, rather than random selections from the network. This is similar to how Blender Compositor or Houdini works, but with a focus on UI. In fact, we will get an editor that learns as it works."
Major UX/UI tool updates include platform consolidations and new AI features that change designer workflows. Canva merged Affinity Photo, Designer, and Publisher into a single free package called Affinity Studio that combines Vector, Pixel, and Layout and introduces a Customise mode for building personalised workspaces while integrating Canva’s AI. Figma acquired a Tel Aviv startup to enable node-linked parameters, training AI on private references, on-demand generation of graphics and UI elements, and live iterative workflows that learn from usage. Mocku provides practical, high-quality mockup scene and video generation for realistic presentation assets. These developments lower costs and accelerate asset creation.
