A no-cherry-picking experiment fed ten common UI prompts into five AI design tools and captured only raw, first-attempt outputs. The prompts covered accessibility, error handling, minimalist layouts, and other common UI challenges. Results varied by tool: some models showed strong contextual understanding and accessibility-aware UX writing, while others produced clean, structured layouts or rapid prototypes. Several outputs emphasized visual polish over interaction robustness. First-pass AI results often need human iteration to address usability edge cases and real-world constraints. AI can accelerate prototyping and suggest solutions but does not yet replace iterative human-centered design.
