Briefly

The author shares their transition from India to the Netherlands, emphasizing how cultural backgrounds influence design philosophy. Raised in a vibrant, maximalist environment, they initially faced challenges in adapting to the minimalist design aesthetic favored in Dutch UX. Their portfolio, once brimming with bold designs, proved unfit for the Dutch market, prompting them to refine their approach and embrace simplicity, illustrating how one's design perspective can evolve through cultural immersion.
I'm born and brought up in India, where more means more. We are not a 'minimalist' country, and neither are our apps or digital products. Our markets or bazaars are noisy, crowded, with posters and billboards screaming for attention.
