Zelenskyy is set to meet Trump at the White House. Here's what to expect
"You're not acting at all thankful"
"gambling with World War III,"
"No, you've done a lot of talking. ... You're not winning this."
"Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form,"
President Trump’s tone toward Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shifted from sharp public rebukes in February to more cordial and supportive gestures by August and at the United Nations. Trump criticized Zelenskyy early on for appearing ungrateful and told him to be quiet, but later suggested Ukraine, with European Union support, could reclaim all seized territory. The shift followed Ukrainian deep strikes on Russia, visible Russian battlefield losses, and signs of economic strain in Russia. Growing disappointment with Russian President Vladimir Putin and reassessment of which leader appears likely to prevail influenced the change in posture.
