Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was a little bit surprised by President Donald Trump's public announcement fully supporting Ukraine. Zelensky said the declaration reassured his people and army and signaled stronger U.S. backing to the end. Zelensky said Ukraine is ready to finish the war quickly but that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want that and continues to claim victory. Trump posted on Truth Social that after reviewing the military and economic situation he believes Ukraine, with European Union support, can win back all of its original territory and perhaps more. Trump called Russia a 'paper tiger' and pledged continued NATO support.
