Rep. Tim Burchett credited Tucker Carlson as the source for a theory that the 2024 Butler, Pennsylvania shooter was "programmed" by an intelligence program. Burchett claimed that officials such as Kristi Noem, Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino know facts that have been buried, destroyed, or concealed by people who are either dead or absent. He suggested the CIA acknowledged possessing a capability it no longer uses but implied someone is using it. Burchett warned that attempts to purge agencies would remove people who manage security and compared the alleged recruitment methods to tactics used by radical groups.
