Where Russia Belongs!' Lindsey Graham Gleefully Adds US Adversary to List of Terrorist States
"Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) joined Senate Democrats on Thursday to add Russia to the U.S.'s list of state sponsors of terrorism. The senators held a press conference condemning Russia for the alleged abduction of Ukrainian children. Since the start of the war with Ukraine, Russia has been accused of taking the children and subjecting them to forced re-education. Some have allegedly been forced into military training camps to fight on behalf of Ukraine's enemy."
"Now, what we're doing here is calling Russia what it is under Vladimir Putin's leadership, which is a state sponsor of terrorism, Blumenthal said. And it will continue to be a state sponsor of terrorism unless it returns those children and new leadership in Russia can remove it from that list; but for now, We want to add it to that poster."
"That's where Russia belongs, Blumenthal continued. That's the club. That's the group a state sponsor of terrorism. Now, I know there are all kinds of practical questions. What does it mean? What's the impact?' And the point here is it brands Russia for what it is in the eyes of the world, a member of this exclusive pariah club that nobody wants to join, and condemns them not only For moral purposes, but also economic goals, as well."
Sen. Lindsey Graham joined Senate Democrats to add Russia to the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism. Senators condemned Russia for alleged abduction of Ukrainian children. Since the start of the war, Russian forces have been accused of taking children and subjecting them to forced re-education and allegedly forcing some into military training camps to fight for Russia. Sen. Richard Blumenthal declared Russia a state sponsor of terrorism while flanked by Graham and Sen. Amy Klobuchar and said the designation will remain until the children are returned and leadership changes. Blumenthal displayed a poster listing Cuba, North Korea, Iran, and Syria and added Russia. He said the designation brands Russia morally and economically as a pariah.
