Robinson's arrest sent shockwaves through the small Washington community near St. George in southwest Utah. Washington, a city of about 30,000, lies roughly three hours from the Utah Valley University campus. Robinson, 22, became the suspect in the killing of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk during a campus event in Orem. After a 33-hour manhunt, Robinson's family helped law enforcement take him into custody. Police patrolled the neighborhood and blocked onlookers from approaching the family's home. Neighbors expressed disbelief, sympathy for Robinson's parents, and noted the family's ties to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Local officials expressed sadness over political violence linked to the community.
