US VP Vance Says Both Ukraine, Russia Will Be 'Unhappy' With Any Peace Deal
Briefly

US Vice President JD Vance indicated that upcoming peace deals between Ukraine and Russia are expected to leave both parties unhappy. Ahead of a meeting between Presidents Trump and Putin, discussions of resolving the war may involve territorial exchanges. Trump expressed a willingness to consider "swapping of territories" to benefit both nations. Ukraine's President Zelenskyy and European allies firmly oppose such exchanges, insisting on the importance of Ukraine’s security and territorial integrity, and asserting that any resolution must be fair and backed by the West.
"It's not going to make anybody super happy. Both the Russians and the Ukrainians, probably, at the end of the day, are going to be unhappy with it," Vance said in a Fox News interview.
Trump in recent days has suggested that any resolution to the war could include 'swapping of territories.' "We're going to get some back, and we're going to get some switched,' Trump said.
The end of the war must be fair, and I am grateful to everyone who stands with Ukraine and our people today for the sake of peace in Ukraine," Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy warned that any peace deal excludes discussion of Ukraine's territorial integrity.
