Those assertions were called egregiously false and ludicrous, with prior false claims noted such as wind-turbine noise causing cancer. Before the April tariffs, the US experienced solid GDP growth, low unemployment, and declining inflation, with the Economist calling the US economy the envy of the world. Even conservative editor Ramesh Ponnuru called those claims lunatic.
