The US President has voiced disappointment in Vladimir Putin for not ceasing hostilities in Ukraine and announced additional weapon shipments to bolster Ukraine's defense. Russia's intensified attacks have targeted civilian areas in Kyiv, with over 500 missiles and drones striking the city nightly. Trump urged the need for Ukraine to defend itself and expressed dissatisfaction with Putin's lack of cooperation. The Pentagon confirmed that under Trump's directive, additional defensive weapons will be provided to Ukraine amid efforts to achieve lasting peace and halt violence.
Trump stated, "We're gonna send some more weapons we have to them, they have to be able to defend themselves, they're getting hit very hard now."
"It's a horrible thing, and I'm not happy with President Putin at all. I'm disappointed frankly that President Putin hasn't stopped," Trump remarked.
Trump emphasized, "They're getting hit very hard. We're gonna have to send more weapons, your defensive weapons primarily, but they're getting hit very, very hard. So many people are dying in that mess."
The Pentagon confirmed, "At President Trump's direction, the Department of Defense is sending additional defensive weapons to Ukraine to ensure the Ukrainians can defend themselves while we work to secure a lasting peace and ensure the killing stops."
