Trump wants to 'end' largest US infrastructure project, a tunnel between NY and NJ
Briefly

"I'm cutting the project,"
"The project is going to be dead. It is pretty much dead right now."
"Tell him it's terminated,"
"Gateway is the most important infrastructure project in America, period,"
The Gateway tunnel project aims to expand train service between New York and New Jersey by building a new two-tube tunnel and rehabilitating a 115-year-old pair of Hudson River tunnels. Construction had begun at several sites with hundreds of workers operating as of Oct. 17. The project is estimated at $16 billion, plans nine miles of new track, targets completion of the new tunnel by 2035 and restoration of the old tunnel by 2038, and projects tens of thousands of jobs and tens of billions in economic activity. The president announced plans to cut federal support, while Senate Democrats called the move political retaliation.
