Trump to Scott Jennings: Tariffs Saved 'Half' of Peace Deals
Briefly

Tariffs are described as essential negotiation leverage that enabled securing multiple peace deals, with roughly half of those deals attributed to tariff pressure. The absence of tariffs is characterized as risking national economic decline and making the country weak, pathetic, and not rich. Tariff authority is said to provide tremendous negotiating and economic power. The practice is compared to trade practices allegedly used against the country for the past 30 years. Losing the ability to impose tariffs is framed as an economic disaster that could transform the United States from the richest country into one of the great poor countries.
It will be a disaster if that is lost for our country, Trump said in a preview clip shared by Jennings. Our country will be weak, pathetic, and not rich. It will be, you know, I've put us in a position even negotiating I've negotiated seven peace deals because I was able to use tariffs. Without tariffs, many of those deals half of those deals I wouldn't have been able to do.
It gives us tremendous negotiating power. It gives us tremendous economic power. And it's the same exact thing they've done to us for 30 years and they're still doing it. If that decision would be lost, it would be an economic disaster for the United States. The United States will be the richest country. If we lose that decision, we'll be one of the great poor countries.
