He alleged Colombia has cocaine factories and that illegal drugs flow into the United States, generally through Mexico. Trump warned that he would take very serious action against Petro and Colombia. He said Petro has turned Colombia into a death trap since becoming president in 2022. The exchange followed Petro's accusation that the U.S. murdered Colombian fishermen, which Trump denied and countered by citing a strike that killed two narcoterrorists traveling in a drug-carrying submarine.
