Trump Threatens Substantial' Tariffs on Countries With Digital Taxes' That Could Affect His Crypto Business
Briefly

The U.S. President threatened to impose substantial additional tariffs and export restrictions on countries that enact digital taxes, digital services legislation, or digital markets regulations perceived to harm or discriminate against American technology companies. The statement asserted that such measures unfairly favor China's largest tech firms and demanded removal of discriminatory actions or face consequences. The message framed American technology firms as protected assets and rejected the notion of the United States as a global piggy bank. The President's family involvement in World Liberty Financial and the $Trump coin was noted, with The Wall Street Journal raising concerns about the cryptocurrency business.
As the President of the United States, I will stand up to Countries that attack our incredible American Tech Companies, wrote Trump in a Truth Social post. Digital Taxes, Digital Services Legislation, and Digital Markets Regulations are all designed to harm, or discriminate against, American Technology. They also, outrageously, give a complete pass to China's largest Tech Companies. This must end, and end NOW!
With this TRUTH, I put all Countries with Digital Taxes, Legislation, Rules, or Regulations, on notice that unless these discriminatory actions are removed, I, as President of the United States, will impose substantial additional Tariffs on that Country's Exports to the U.S.A., and institute Export restrictions on our Highly Protected Technology and Chips. America, and American Technology Companies, are neither the piggy bank nor the doormat of the World any longer.
