Trump described Peters as 73, sick, and serving two years of a nine-year sentence in a Colorado Maximum Security Prison for trying to stop alleged massive voter fraud. Peters, the former Mesa County clerk, was convicted on seven state charges after giving an associate of MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell access to county election software; charges include attempting to influence a public servant and criminal impersonation. Trump also claimed earlier to have pardoned Peters and accused Democrats of targeting election critics.
