"The room cheered as Cook yelled into the microphone. Trump smiled as he watched alongside her, before giving her a big hug. That moment came just a few hours after CBS reporter Ed O'Keefe asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt if she had any examples of Trump being falsely called racist in recent years. That question stunned Leavitt. You're kidding, right? Leavitt replied."
President Donald Trump received vocal support at a White House Black History Month event when Washington, D.C. resident Felicia Cook addressed attendees. Cook praised Trump for "keeping it real" and said she trusts him because he tells exactly how he feels and thinks. Cook said her grandson was killed in a shooting and that members of the Trump administration interviewed her about the tragedy. She said she testified before Congress in favor of Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill and credited that bill and a National Guard deployment with making the capital safer. Cook loudly defended Trump against accusations of racism, drawing cheers and a hug from Trump. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said her team could pull examples of false accusations.
