Trump says this post by former FBI director Comey called for his 'assassination'
Briefly

In a recent interview, President Trump condemned former FBI Director James Comey for posting a photo of shell formations that he alleged signified a call for his assassination. Trump claimed the message was clear, as he interpreted the numbers '86 47' in the photo to mean eliminating him, being the 47th president. Following the backlash, Homeland Security indicated that the threat was under investigation. Trump further labeled Comey a "dirty cop" and insisted there should be no leniency regarding any repercussions he might face for his actions.
"He knew exactly what that meant. A child knows what that meant ... That meant 'assassination,'" Trump said in an interview with Bret Baier on Friday.
"Cool shell formation on my beach walk," Comey had captioned the photo on Instagram.
"He's calling for the assassination of the president," Trump said after the Comey photo got major backlash from the president's allies.
"He's a dirty cop," Trump said of Comey - adding that his fate will be decided by Attorney General Pam Bondi, but that he thinks there should be no leniency.
