Trump Gushes About Fox Host's Book Hours After He Pushed for New Gun Laws on Air
Briefly

A shooter opened fire at Annunciation Roman Catholic Church in Minneapolis, killing two children, ages 8 and 10, injuring 17 others, and then dying by suicide. Trey Gowdy appeared on Fox News Channel's Outnumbered and repeatedly urged tougher gun laws, framing the issue as a balance between freedom and protecting children. Later that night, President Trump posted on Truth Social praising Gowdy and promoting his novel The Color of Death, calling it a fantastic new book and urging people to buy it. Emily Compagno noted the president's endorsement, and Gowdy said he had given the president a copy while golfing.
I have to note that the president even weighed in on this book. Writing on Truth Social quote Number one New York Times best selling author Trey Gowdy has just written a great new novel, an in depth study of justice and grief. And he calls you a political pro and a very good and talented guy. He says get his new book today. What does that feel like to have the president also acknowledge the importance of what's in this book, justice and grief?
Emily, that is the side of the president that I know the three of you know, but I think the rest of the world doesn't. I never ask him to do that. I gave him a copy of this book three weeks ago while we were playing golf and I didn't expect him to read it and I certainly didn't expect him to encourage others to do it.
