President Donald Trump hosted a dinner for Republican lawmakers in the newly renovated Rose Garden. Attendees included Mike Johnson (R-LA), Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), and other House Republicans. Trump asked Lankford to give grace; Lankford thanked God for the food and the privilege of being together and closed "in the name of Jesus, I ask tonight, amen." Trump then recounted a late-night vote-wrangling anecdote about receiving calls reporting "16 hard no's" and struggling to secure votes with a one-seat House majority. Trump praised Johnson and said Johnson would go down as one of the greatest in history.
