President Trump introduced a strategy to confront inquiries regarding his past association with Jeffrey Epstein by instructing GOP lawmakers to reference his unfounded claims against former President Barack Obama. The Epstein controversy intensified over the past few weeks with resurfaced footage, new profile pieces, and images of Trump and Epstein. Trump characterized these inquiries as distractions from his agenda of making America great again, suggesting that criticisms serve only to vilify him and other Republican members.

But Trump, who has taken to assailing anyone who asks about the case, thought up a new strategy as he addressed Republican lawmakers at a reception in the East Room of the White House Tuesday night.
Trump told Republicans to reference his baseless and discredited accusation of treason against former President Barack Obama anytime they get a question that's not appropriate.
He reminded GOP members that they should not let anyone forget his claims about Obama cheating on the election, framing it within the context of handling inquiries about his own relationship with Epstein.
