The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops published a message, approved by more than 95% of members at their fall assembly in Baltimore, condemning indiscriminate mass deportations. The bishops said they are disturbed by a climate of fear and anxiety around profiling and immigration enforcement and said Christian teaching demands compassion for migrants.
