"Primarily it's to be with Prince Charles and Camilla. He's [a friend] of mine for a long time, long before he was king... I think he represents the country so well."
"He's such an elegant gentleman."
Donald Trump mistakenly used the title 'Prince Charles' when referring to King Charles III as he prepared for a state visit to the United Kingdom on Tuesday, 16 September. The US president described His Majesty as an 'elegant gentleman' and a 'friend.' He said the king had been his friend 'for a long time, long before he was king' and added that he 'represents the country so well.' The remarks were made as he was leaving the White House and outlining his hopes for the trip.
