A claim asserts Black women in Chicago pleaded for a D.C.-style federal crime crackdown, with Chicago named as the next target and New York as a subsequent one. The claim pairs an anecdote about being able to walk safely and dine with a spouse in the designated city and notes restaurants are full and new establishments opening after security improvements. Prior restaurant closures were attributed to high crime. The National Guard was credited with working with police and preventing the need for regular military deployment, with continued willingness to use regular military if required. Campaign gains with Black voters were cited as evidence of support.
We have this event in December. It's going to be a very safe. Gianni, you can walk on the street with your beautiful wife, can take her to dinner, can get a reservation which I doubt. GIANNI INFANTINO: They're all full, the restaurants. [Laughter] TRUMP: I heard that too, the restaurants are all full. Since we've been doing this, they are doing great. And many new restaurants will open because as you know, many restaurants closed. Many restaurants closed because the crime was so bad. This will be one of the safest places anywhere on earth.
Trump then turned to Vice President J.D. Vance, saying, And the people in Chicago, Mr. Vice President, are screaming for us to come. Vance agreed as Trump added, They are wearing red hats, just like this one. But they are wearing red hats. African American ladies, beautiful ladies are saying, Please, President Trump, come to Chicago, please.' I did great with the Black vote, as you know. And they want something to happen. So I think Chicago will be our next, and then we will help with New York, Trump added.
