Truly Surprised by This': CNN's Harry Enten Highlights Shocking' Approval for Trump and DOGE Spending Cuts
Briefly

CNN's Harry Enten reported that recent polling revealed majority support for President Trump's proposed federal spending cuts, surprising him. Efforts led by Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), headed by Elon Musk, show significant backing, despite Musk himself being unpopular. A CBS/YouGov poll found that 54% of respondents support Musk's influence on spending. Moreover, public sentiment towards government size has shifted, with 55% in favor of reducing government roles by 2024, highlighting the importance of transparency in these initiatives.
Enten noted the efforts remain generally popular, while DOGE head Elon Musk himself remains not that popular. This, to me, was one of the more shocking figures that I saw.
According to a CBS/YouGov poll, 54% believe Musk and DOGE should have at least some influence on government spending and operations.
Citing Gallup numbers, Enten also noted that views on the federal government and its size have shifted in recent years. In 2020, just 41% said the government was doing too much.
They are giving him running room on this, but that is why I think these numbers show why transparency and what is actually being done... is so important.
