Tom Emmer accused Chuck Schumer of prioritizing a pro-terrorist faction within the Democratic Party while the government shutdown continues. Emmer said some Senate Democrats are beginning to push to reopen the government and urged at least five or six to vote to end the shutdown. Emmer criticized Democratic demands to include Affordable Care Act subsidy extensions in a continuing resolution and blamed that stance for the impasse. Emmer referenced Zohran Mamdani's electoral victory as evidence of the progressive influence he says is controlling the shutdown and called for Democrats to put Americans first.
