ICE recruitment standards were criticized as drawing inadequately trained personnel, including individuals with backyard-wrestling backgrounds and behavioral red flags. Both hard-core protesters and people advocating the shooting were described as extreme and unserious, and the country was said to need more serious, stable individuals.
