Three New Mexico Communities Receive $100K Broadband Grants

The New Mexico GWEP broadband grants program, open to Tribal governments, local governments, rural telephone cooperatives, and rural electric cooperatives, has several benefits including no matching fund requirement and non-competitive assistance.
To date, 31 broadband grants have been awarded via the New Mexico program, including three to Tribal communities and multiple local governments, facilitating competition for further funding support.
The OBAE announced a $1.5 million grant to Transworld Network LLC to provide broadband for 484 unserved or underserved rural students and faculty, benefiting educational institutions in Silver City.
